A Comprehensive Failure Risk Analysis of Drainage Pipes Utilizing Fuzzy Failure Mode and Effect Analysis and Evidential Reasoning

Drainage pipes play a crucial role in maintaining the functionality of cities and ensuring smooth flow daily life for its inhabitants. However, due to their placement either shallow ground or within building foundations, maintenance these can be challenging. At present, research this field primarily focuses on evaluating overall health macroscopic pipeline systems. Moreover, there is lack decision algorithms that effectively minimize subjectivity experts. To address issue, failure risk analysis method was developed incorporates principles Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Evidential Reasoning (ER), Fuzzy Set Theory (FST) (FACEF). Nineteen failures were analyzed by synthesizing information from five commonly used evaluation specifications. Ten experts consulted evaluate failures, scores calculated ranked using FACEF method. The results indicated six types namely penetration, crack, deformation, mismatch, leakage, obstruction, require most attention. An typical causes conducted based scores, measures prevention control recommended. This study provides novel perspectives insights management with focus reducing influence expert through refinement analysis.
